Vocabulary from friends 1x15

curator
noun [C]
a person in charge of a museum, library, etc.

audition
noun [C]
a short performance that an actor, musician, dancer, etc. gives in order to show their ability and suitability for a particular play, film, show, etc:
His audition went well and he's fairly hopeful about getting the part.
The director is holding auditions next week for the major parts.

metaphorically
metaphor
noun [C or U]
an expression which describes a person or object in a literary way by referring to something that is considered to possess similar characteristics to the person or object you are trying to describe:
'The mind is an ocean' and 'the city is a jungle' are both metaphors.
Metaphor and simile are the most commonly used figures of speech in everyday language.

amateur
adjective
1 taking part in an activity for pleasure, not as a job:
an amateur astronomer/boxer/historian
He was an amateur singer until the age of 40, when he turned professional.

brag
verb [I] -gg- INFORMAL DISAPPROVING
to speak too proudly about what you have done or what you own:
She's always bragging about how much money she earns.

cuddle

to put your arms around someone and hold them in a loving way, or (of two people) to hold each other close for affection or comfort:
